MLS betting preview: Montreal Impact -Sporting KC
Sporting did us a favour last week, finding a last gasp winner at Real Salt Lake, ahead of which I wrote ... Sporting have lost centre back Matt Besler (15-0-1) who was called up to the US squad this week and they have lost 2 of the last 3 he has sat out and I would argue he is their most important defender and possibly, overall player. They do get Mechack Jerome and Peterson Joseph back from Gold Cup duty which gives them more options. SKC have scored on five of their last seven visits to Salt Lake and in their last nine starts, four on the road and with Real having a weakened defensive spine and 3rd choice , young, inexperienced keeper it is hard to see the visitors not extended that sequence tonight.
They won that 2-1, but did perhaps enjoy the lions share of good fortune, they will again be without Matt Besler ( see above) and the situation is severely compounded with the suspension to his centre back partner in Aurélien Collin (19-3-2), the last time SKC started a match without either was, well never, since Collin joined in early 2011, one or other has always played, usually both. These are big losses and with SKC struggling with the holding role and having limited protection for the backline, this is a good opportunity for Impact to record a first win in six starts, they are 6-3-1 at home and looking to close the four point advantage Sporting hold at the top of the table. They were scoring for fun early season, but the goals have dried up recently, however, they won in Kansas last month and with a well rested and returning Marco Di Vaio (18-11-1) back to lead the line, they should edge this.1.5 units Montreal Impact -0.25 ball 2.16 asian line/Ibramarket.
Good Luck.
