Two major contenders for the post season and Montreal could move to within two points of the #1 spot with the win. You could make a case for both being happier on the road, especially Red Bulls and I spent much of the early season highlighting how effective they and their hard high press was in away starts.

 

However, CFM are in top form, arguably have more to gain from the win and are on a long unbeaten run which includes 13 goals (2+ in each) and points from their last five starts.

 

They are coming off a trip to Chicago to play Fire where we backed them to score twice ........

 

 

They won 2-0 despite playing the second half with 10 men and whilst that messed up their numbers, they were already 2-0 up and able to sit on their lead, so that is not a concern, they averaged 2.5 xGF in their last two home starts, won 2-1 in NY in early season and the last six h2h meetings as host, scoring 8 (2+ in each) goals in the last three. 

 

NY are without RB Kyle Duncan tonight due to suspension, he was brought in on loan to cover a problem position and will be a loss, they conceded eight goals in the two starts before his arrival.
