Juventude conceded 29 road goals last season,, the most of any non relegated team , they have already conceded a league high 13 through seven games and were promoted in 2020 having given up 42 goals which is the second most of the last 24 promoted teams and it is clear where their issues lie ! They don't score many either, but they have scored in each of their three away games and should have scored (xGF) an additional 8-9 last season. Today they play just one of two teams below them visiting bottom of the table Fortaleza , but the home side were 4th last season and have been concentrating on a first ever Copa Libertadores campaign , that has been a huge deal and they qualified through a tough group containing some really experienced teams, including four time winners (twice in last six years) River Plate and that after losing their first two starts. It was a tough introduction, but they learned quickly and can now switch their focus to the league with eight Serie A games before they return to international competition. Their xGD this season is 8.7-6.5 as opposed to the reality of 3-9 and they have won 5/6 on xG and are clearly FAR better than the table suggests .Juventude have never won here in the far North East and it is an almost 8,000 km round trip and 11 degrees hotter than in Caxias do Sul , with very stormy and sticky conditions.
