I spoke early this season and in each of the last 3-4 about the increased number of goals in this competition, especially in the early rounds. That is less pronounced from the last eight onwards as you might expect, with mainly top tier sides involved and teams with some silverware in sight. But the last five seasons have still seen 60% of 20 games go "over" ( last six seasons of L1 games have bounced between 44% and 46%) and there have been a high proportion of home wins (55%) which is way above what we would normally expect in L1, although there have been a very high (too high) number this season and that is something I want to talk about at some stage, but not today. PSG have been the dominant side in France for the last four years and if we remove their three road games from the stats, games have actually ended 11-3-3, so a heavy (64.71%) home bias, and without the four time champions, "overs" are running at 62.5%. So, simple, goals and home wins !
