Ligue 1 betting tip: Nantes- AS Monaco

Ligue 1: Nantes- AS Monaco
At the weekend I looked at Monaco- Rennes.........
On Friday I posted Ligue 1 ITB numbers which saw Monaco +14, Rennes despite being in 10th on -26 and added ......I have highlighted some standout numbers, to be honest. only 8 points separates 3rd and 20th in Ligue 1 and things can and will change quickly. Expected points put Monaco 5th, Lyon 6th, Dijon 7th, Nantes 14th, Bordeaux 15th, Brest 19th and Rennes 20th . Looking at those alongside the ITB stats, it is easy to see Bordeaux, Rennes and Brest as the three big overachievers, possibly with a downturn around the corner.
Everything suggests that ASM are the better team and they could actually move above Rennes with a three goal win today, we do not have to overly worry about that kind of margin of victory and two would work fine for us !
ASN duo Wissam Ben Yedder and Islam Slimani have quickly forged an outstanding partnership since arriving in the principality in the summer, French striker Ben Yedder has already contributed six Ligue 1 goals in seven appearances since a big-money move from Sevilla, while Slimani has four goals and a remarkable six assists in six games since signing on loan from Leicester City.Monaco's Portugese head coach Leonardo Jardim seems to know how to get the best out of Slimani and was in charge at Sporting when the Algerian first made his name and also knows Rennes striker Raphinha from his time at the Portugese club, despite it being after his reign (edit: Raphinha is missing today). ASM have really struggled with discipline this season and are without suspended trio of Aleksandr Golovin, Fodé Ballo-Touré and Gelson Martins which hardly helps, but is off set by Rennes having a lengthy injury list for today and two key players in Tait and Niang included but carrying knocks, up front they have named three "strikers" one is a midfielder, the other has just a single goal at this level and the third is Niang who appears less than 100%.Home win.
Monaco won 3-2 despite trailing twice, with Ben Yidder and Slimani ( see above) scoring all three between them and "Slim" adding another assist, ASM dominated almost all stat categories and they could move above six teams and into 8th ( at least for 24 hours) by winning this evening.
Nantes were second last week , but only on +1 in terms of ITB numbers, which is more mid table and they lost 1-0 at basement club Metz in a game where neither team created much and they are seven spots and more than three points behind ASM in the updated "expected" table. Monaco get their three suspended players (see above) back today, Nantes are without banned Wague and Louza and also dealing with several injuries. The visitors are in 14th but very much in Champions League contention and will still be eyeing up second place and look to have that kind of quality in a league looking a bit short in that regard. Away win.
