Monday's Premier League sample preview...............

Premier League : West Ham United- Leicester City
Ahead of West Ham's long trip up to Newcastle last weekend my notes included ............
The Hammers had a great 20-21 finishing 6th, just 4 points off Liverpool in third and up 10 places and 26 points from the previous season (incredibly, 60 adrift of Liverpool). It will be a very tall order to replicate, let alone improve upon that and whilst it was a genuine enough placing, as they were 7th for xP, within 5 points of their real total, the squad is the second oldest and will need an upgrade very soon. They have spent nothing and been very quiet in this transfer window, but are at least starting from a good position. Jesse Lingard was a star on loan last season, but Said Benrahma looks set to step into that role and to be given more starts and has the ability to thrill this season and his pre season form has been decent enough, he scored a wonder goal against Brentford, but it was after he moved inside after being marked out of the game by a RB that many Bees fans consider not good enough, so go figure !
The Hammers were ranked #2 last season for games in which both teams scored, both overall and on the road and with BTS in 14/19 of the Magpies home games, keeping the fewest home clean sheets in the EPL , I expect to see those trends continuing today .
The Hammers twice came from behind to win a thrilling game 4-2 and were ultimately fairly comfortable victors.
City opened with a 1-0 defeat of Wolves ............
Leicester City should have qualified for the Champions League in each of the last two seasons and blew it each time, last season they were 7 points clear of the team in 5th with five games remaining and came up short and I just wonder how that will affect them. Having said that, they were joint 5th for xP so probably finished in the correct position and are forecast to get the hat-trick of fifth place finishes ( see below). They have great recruitment, the best in the EPL by a mile, at least until Brentford's arrival and look to have done more good business this summer, but they have needed a quality CB for a long time and now injury to Wesley Fofana ( won 3/9 in his absence) has compounded that issue. City were the #1 team in the PL after the 75th minute, scoring the most goals and with the best goal difference (23-10) and are the dream "in play" betting team !
Yesterday I touched upon how that played out ......... Wolves "won" xG 1.66-0.55, BC's 1-0 and ITB attempts 12-6.
They and United gave up a combined xGA of over 3.50 and against two teams who look set to struggle and it is easy to see both offensives having the better of this and that has long been the case in this series, with the last five h2h meetings averaging 4.0 goals ( all 3+) and the last 9 in London averaging 3.67.
1.75 units "over " 3 goals 2.45 asian line.
Good luck !
