PGA Tour betting tip...............
Matthew Wolff turned professional in June 2019 and the very next month earned his first PGA Tour victory at the 3M Open at TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, Minnesota. He shot a 6-under 65 in the final round to edge out fellow Tour newcomer Collin Morikawa and Bryson DeChambeau by one stroke at 21-under par. The tournament came down to the 72nd green. DeChambeau, playing one group ahead of Morikawa and Wolff, made eagle on the par-5 18th hole and took a 1-shot lead. Wolff's approach landed on the edge of the green, but he powered a 26-foot putt off the pin and into the hole to take lead with an eagle of his own.
That must have hurt DeChambeau , when he holed that putt he was "guaranteed" a playoff at least and was denied by a miracle shot. I doubt it has been forgotten. Bryson is himself only 26 yo and he has five wins on Tour, all in the last three years and each coming after the first week in June. Incredibly, he has finished 5-2-4-3-8-6 in his last six starts, three before and three after lockdown, in three of those he shot 65 or 66 on Sunday. He was ranked #8 on Tour for Round 4 scoring in 2019 and is #4 this year.
He will be going for it today and said when asked of his plan:“Just going out there and being aggressive, being aggressive where need be.” He has done that most of the week and nearly drove the green at the par-4 first and 13th holes yesterday, birdied both, and leads the field in driving distance (347.3) by a very wide margin. He hasn’t quite put it all together yet, but it feels overdue and he is a golfer I like from off the pace and he feels perfectly positioned today.
In early 2018 I wrote ........... DeChambeau also won last year, shooting 65 on Sunday to take the John Deere Classic by a stroke , he had a glorious amateur career and in 2015 became the fifth golfer in history to win both the NCAA Division 1 championship and the US Amateur title in the same year. When I tell you that three of the other golfers to do so were Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Jack Nicklaus (the other is Ryan Moore a five time winner on Tour) you will be aware of what exalted company that puts him in.
I think that he will win today, in fact, I will be rather surprised if he doesn't. Wolff has that win, but is still very young in golf and experience terms and he has not finished top 10 in any subsequent tournament and is far from battle hardened.
3 units Bryson DeChambeau to win outright 3.0 + general quote ...........3.45 @Betfair where there is about 14k liquidity @ 3.40 + and everyone who wants will get matched at that quote.
Stay safe and good luck !
