Bundesliga: 20-21 season scheduled to start September 18th

 

La Liga: 20-21 season scheduled to start September 12th

 

Italy Serie A : still two rounds remain for 19-20 and will be played this week, the 20-21 season is provisionally scheduled to start September 12th

 

Premier League: 20-21 season scheduled to start September 12th

 

Championship: 20-21 season scheduled to start September 12th , the 19-20 playoffs will continue until August 4th.

 

Ligue 1: 20-21 season scheduled to start August 22nd

 

Ligue 2: 20-21 season scheduled to start August 22nd

 

Brazil Serie A: 2020 season is scheduled to start next week (August 8-9) and in typical Brazilian fashion, they have six full rounds planned in August to kick things off.

 

MLS: still no decision about what will happen after the MLS is Back tournament (QF's July 30-August 1, SF's Aug 5-6, Final Aug 11th) is completed.

 

Japan J-League 1: 2020 season ongoing with full rounds scheduled for  1-2 August , 8-9 August , 15-16 August, 19th August, 22-23 August, 29-30 August, 4th September, 8-9 September, 11th September, 18th September, 22nd September, 25th September.

 

Champions League: August 7th Man City -Real Madrid and Juventus-Lyon, August 8th Bayern -Chelsea and Barcelona -Napoli will complete the R16 second legs, after which it will switch to a single leg competition with all games played in Lisbon, QF's will be on August 12/13/14/15, Semi's on August 18/19 and the Final August 23.

 

Europa League: Round 16 :three second leg ties will be played on both August 5th and 6th as originally scheduled, there are two ties which have not started, these will be played as single games at a neutral venue in Germany, which will also host the quarter final stage onwards, with all rounds played as single leg ties. QF's August 10-11, Semi's August 16-17 and the Final on August 21st.

 

So we will have 26 top European ties played across just 18 days.

 

PGA Golf: we have a tournament per week for the foreseeable future, we have a WGC event starting this Thursday, followed by the first major of 2020 next week, August 20th sees the start of the Playoff series which culminates with the Tour Championship which gets underway on September 4th. The 20-21 season starts immediately and will include the US Open scheduled for September 17th, with the US Masters down for November 12th. All both exciting and very odd !

 

NFL: is set to start on September 11th and training camps are underway, but some players are "opting out" of this season and pre season games have been scrapped. If it goes ahead it will be a very different NFL season, but I see that as being in our favour.

 

WTA Tennis: The WTA Tour’s major tournament return will see the Western & Southern Open, typically held in Cincinnati, Ohio, being hosted this year at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York City -- the same site as, and a week prior to the US Open, which maintains its originally scheduled dates. Following the US Open, the WTA Tour will continue to Europe with several red clay events, including the Mutua Madrid Open leading into Roland Garros, with Roland Garros qualifying scheduled the week of September 21 and main draw the following two weeks, concluding on October 11.
