Of the seven players, all apart from James Rodriguez (quarter finals), played for teams who reached the last four and six actually lost at the semi final stage, but each of those played seven games, as there has always been a 3rd and 4th place playoff. 

 

You are looking for a striker in a team who will most likely reach the final four, or come close and they will probably need six goals, a fast start is always preferred and Ronaldo/Klose/Villa/Rodriguez/Kane all scored 3-5 at the group stage. So a "weak" group obviously helps .
